Brotherhood of St. Andrew
Our mission is to strengthen the bonds of our parish community and to provide a forum for men in the church to develop their spiritual understanding through prayer, study and service. The Brotherhood Chapter at Saint Paul's belongs to the Pennsylvania Diocese, which is part of Province III of the International organization.
Our Program year runs from September through June. We meet on the third Sunday of the month in Paxson Hall. Monthly meetings include a study session and planning of regular events and activities. All men of the church are welcome to join.
Each year the Brotherhood sponsors two Sunday morning breakfasts, a fall Spaghetti Dinner and the Shove Tuesday Pancake Supper. The goal of these activities is to bring our parish community together. The youth groups are invited to help out at these events. We also participate in several Diocesan activities including the Men and Boys Communion Breakfast.
We take an Annual retreat in June to the DuPont Memorial House at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. This time away provides another opportunity for men to learn together and share experiences. Other nearby chapters are invited and we often enjoy the company of members from Holy Apostles and Trinity Buckingham. Our weekend includes a series of study sessions, small discussion groups on world problems, and casual fellowship.
The Brotherhood also provides financial support to worthy causes. In past years, we contributed to the Ugandan Aids Program, Habitat for Humanity, the local food pantry, our sister parish in Guatemala and other outreach programs. To fund our outside activities, the Brotherhood conducts a fall sale of Spring bulbs.
Our Current Leadership includes:
Director: Bill Angell
Vice Director: John Canterbury
Treasurer: Dr. David Rockafellow
Recording Secretary: John Brown
Diocese Coordinator: Sam Palermo
