Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a group of Saint Paul’s members who are called to serve God by preparing the church building and altars for worship. Their work is a thank offering of time and many talents.
Their work includes preparing the Seasonal altar, laying out vestments, caring for linens, polishing silver and brass, and replacing the Eucharist supplies of bread, wine, and candles. They also prepare for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, and Burial.
In teams or two or three, guild members serve once a month on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. to prepare for Sunday worship. They also serve on Sunday, after each service, to clear and set out new gifts of bread and wine for the next service.
The guild members meet several times a year for fellowship and a potluck lunch where they discuss preparations for the upcoming season’s celebration. These luncheons are open to any person with an interest in learning more about Altar Guild or joining the guild ministry.
